God Reveals Secrets to His Elects

God Revealed His Plan to Abraham

In Genesis, we learnt that God was about to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah because of their wickedness. However, Abraham's nephew Lot was living there at that time. When God and His angels visited Abraham, the Lord decided not to hide this from Abraham even though no one else on earth knew about this plan. Abraham of course petitioned to God because his nephew Lot was living in that city. Even though the Lord did not answer Abraham directly, His angels finally let Lot escape from the destruction.

Then the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do? ... Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. ~ Genesis 18:17-21

God Does Not Hide From His Elect!

Throughout Bible history, we can see that God always reveals His plans to His people. He gives warnings through His prophets so His people can repent and escape from the coming judgments. Even for wicked Nineveh, God still sent prophet Jonah to warn them of their coming destruction. Unfortunately, most people do not pay attention to God's warnings, nor do they make any effort to change their course of actions.

God will Reveal His Plans Again In the End Times

In the End Times, it is written that God will continue to reveal to His people what He is going to do. Other than prophecies given in the Book of Revelation and other parts of the Bible, God has also said,

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My Spirit. ~ Joel 2:28-29

In the Old Testament, we know that Israel is God's chosen people, and He always revealed His plans to them through prophets in their land. However, we do not know who and where are the real followers of Christ nowadays, but God will still reveal His plans to His chosen ones through revelations, dreams and visions. As the above Scripture shows, prophecies may come from a child, and elderly, or any other person whom we have never thought of!

What Should We Do If We Hear From God?

If we have the privilege to receive a revelation from God, I believe the most important thing is to ask God what He wants us to do with it, as there is always a reason why God reveals something to a person. If it is a warning about a coming judgement, we must warn the person(s) involved. Although we may be mocked, ridiculed, or even persecuted for doing so, we can still pray and make petitions for them. Maybe just like Abraham, our actions and prayers can save some loved ones.
