Receiving a Hundredfold

One of the great promises Jesus made to His disciples is to receive a HUNDREDFOLD NOW and IN THE AGE TO COME. Let us first take a look at this promise:

So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time — houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions — and in the age to come, eternal life. ~ Mark 10:29-30

Who is Qualified?

So, who is qualified for this promise? Jesus gave the following conditions:

1.     One who has given up family relationship(s), or a house or lands; and

2.    These sacrifice have been made for the sake of Jesus and the Gospel.

A Hundredfold of What?

Then if I am qualified, a hundredfold of what will I receive? Since Jesus is talking about giving up family relationships and lands, naturally this promise should also refer to a hundredfold of relationships and lands!

How Do I Get a hundredfold Now in This Life?

When a person has chosen to give up a family relationship for the sake of Jesus and the Gospel, he will immediately be received into God's huge family with millions of brothers, sisters, and people who may even be closer to us than our natural family members.

Likewise, when we have chosen to give up our house or our land for Jesus and the Gospel, we will also immediately be put into His list of heirs who will inherit the earth.

Those who wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. ~ Psalm 37:9

And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise. ~ Galations 3:29

how do I Get a hundredfold in the Life to Come?

Of course in our eternal life, we will continue to be with our brothers and sisters; but in addition, we will also inherit ALL THINGS in the new world!

Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new ..... He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. ~ Revelation 21:5-7

But With Persecutions, Remember!

However, these rewards do not come easy. As Jesus has reminded us, we must receive, "with persecutions".

Afterall, who would be willing to give up a close family relationship or his homeland if he is not being persecuted? However, if we persist, our reward is sure to come!
