What to Do When Injustice Abounds?

Injustice Abounds Throughout History

Yes, truth is gone, and anyone who renounces evil is attacked. The LORD looked and was displeased to find there was no justice. - Isaiah 59:15

Does the above verse sound familiar today? There is no justice, no truth. Good people are not honoured, but rather attacked and persecuted. Actually this situation has existed for a long time throughout the Bible history. We are told that God "is displeased to find there is no justice", so what does He expect us to do?.

What God Expects Us To Do?

He was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed, nor to make any intercessions. So He Himself stepped in to save them with His strong arm, and His justice sustained Him. - Isaiah 59:16

We can see from the above verse that God expects us to (1) intervene to help the oppressed, and (2) to pray and make intercessions. It appears that God expects these responses to be so natural that He was actually amazed to find that no one was doing them! He therefore decided to do it all on His own!

Is There Really Nothing We Can Do?

Many people may argue that, there is nothing we can do because the whole justice system is so corrupted. But is that really so? Can a parent do justice to his or her own children and teach them justice? Can a company owner do justice in his own company? Can people in important positions refuse to take a bribe? If the situation is really so severe or remote that it is not even possible to provide any physical assistance, can we just pray?

I believe if no righteous man stands up for justice, we will be assisting the evil to triumph!

Do Good Works, and Receive Our Rewards!

Even though we do not help others for a reward, but God is just. Whatever we do to help others, He will surely remember and reward us!

Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of Mine, you did it for Me. - Matthew 25:40
